Struggling with chaturanga? Here are some tips to think about!

This pose is so commonly misaligned and mis-taught.
Dipping your shoulders below your elbows in chaturanga and lifting your butt/hips up as you do will very likely lead to shoulder injury over time!

Think about how many chaturangas you do in your yoga practice... have you ever been taught how to do them safely? Has a teacher ever broken down this pose for you step by step?

If the answer is no, ASK at your next yoga class (or check out our YouTube video for step by step instructions on how to practice and get stronger in your yogi push-ups in a SAFE way)

Yin Yoga is a beautiful practice to help you stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system. This is the “rest and digest” response.

Here is a brief Yin Yoga sequence to help you sleep.
We’ve given you variations of the poses with and without props.

If you don’t have yoga blocks vou can use two rolled up towels, blankets or even books to prop yourself up.
Don’t have a bolster? Use pillows! Hold each pose for
2-5 minutes and breathe deeply. Maybe put on your favourite music so that vou can just zone out! This quick Yin Yoga practice is a perfect 8-15 minute addition to your bedtime wind-down routine.

Here are the details:

February 25 - March 17 ✨

7:00 – 8:30am Led yoga practice
8:30 – 9am meditation
9-10am Breakfast break
10am – 1pm Yoga Theory
1pm – 3:30pm Lunch break
3:30pm – 5:30pm Workshops, Teaching Practice, Communication skills
5:30-6:00pm sunset break
6:00-7:30pm Evening satsang, philosophy & ethics
7:30pm dinner

There is 1 day off each week where you can relax, enjoy and explore. Take surf lessons, go zip lining, take a boat trip, go horseback riding, get a massage, or simply laze by the pool.

Our 200hr yoga teacher training takes place at a completely private, retreat centre overlooking just 200M from the most lovely quiet beach in Avellanas, Costa Rica. There’s a yoga Shala, pool, philosophy space and individual bungalows for our students. It’s super cute!

Our retreat centre is gorgeous, secure and truly an experience of paradise!
