The importance of a great education
At Yoga Academy International we strive to offer THE BEST yoga education possible. We believe in empowering our students with knowledge, love, community and support so that they can go on to inspire their communities when they complete their training. Although it is not required, we believe strongly in establishing a solid foundation in anatomy for all aspiring yoga teachers.
Knowing how the human body is constructed and functions in movement insures that our yoga teachers to be know how to avoid as well as help alleviate injury during the yoga practice.
Having some concrete knowledge of how the muscles, bones, ligaments and tendon work together in harmony during an asana (yoga postures) helps yoga teacher create more intelligent sequences and assures that their students stay safe during practice.

Our anatomy teachers are MDs, RMTs, Athletic and Physio therapists who all work with athletes on a daily basis.We belive that it is crucial for yoga teachers to have a solid basis in anatomy in order to keep their students safe and have fruitful, full careers in yoga.
